PRE-TREATMENT

No pre-treatment means no coating...

...or at least, no good quality coating. Providing the right pre-treatment is therefore a key task in our work.

For pre-treating your components we have a variety of systems and techniques at our disposal.

Pulsed plunging tanks - Washing and application of chemical coatings in a thousand variations

For metal and plastic parts up to 2,500 mm x 1,000 mm x 800 mm and with a maximum weight of 400 kg

A total of 34 plunging tanks are available in two lines for optimum pre-treatments tailored to the substrate.

The chemical cleaning can be tailored precisely to the level of contamination, component geometry and material.

Our typical chemical surfaces for metals of all types include conversion layers of silane or titanium-zirconium, chromium III, zinc phosphate and organic sealants.

Whether they be piece goods or barrel-plated goods – all component variants can be processed in our fully automated system.

Fluorination machine – permanent activation even for the most challenging plastics

Does this sound familiar to you? You want to write something with a marker on a plastic cup, but everything squashes up together and can’t be wiped off with a cloth again even after drying.

Many plastics are very poor or impossible to paint, glue or label without any prior treatment.

For more than 20 years now we have been operating an in-house fluorination process, allowing us to process even challenging plastics such as polypropylene.

In our system we can activate components sized up to 2,500 mm x 800 mm x 1000 mm using a high-vacuum fluorination process.

In contrast to other processes, fluorination is an irreversible process whereby the activation persists for months.

Fluorinated plastic surfaces can then be further treated directly, even with water-based coatings or adhesives without any further primers.

Power wash system – with pressure and heat to combat any contamination

For components up to 400 mm x 600 mm x 200 mm and with a maximum weight of 20 kg

For degreasing and cleaning metals and plastics, we have our vacuum power wash system. Here, a cleaning medium is sprayed at pressure on the components in a vacuum chamber.

With an throughput of up to 5,000 small parts per hour, the system can wash and dry metal parts from mechanical production, castings made of steel, aluminium or magnesium and plastic parts of all kinds.

CO2-blasting machines - no contamination can withstand cold blasting

Clean is often not clean enough.

Supposedly clean surfaces are often contaminated due to environmental influences or handling, which can then negatively impact on the painting/coating process.

A gentle yet efficient cleaning of the components just before the coating/painting process is provided by blasting with CO2.

This process can be carried out in all our plants, once again achieving a significantly higher surface quality.
